Lukas 21:36 Waakt dan te aller tijd, biddende, dat gij moogt waardig geacht worden te ontvlieden al deze dingen, die geschieden zullen, en te staan voor den Zoon des mensen.
The need of repentance

Acts 20:26-27 KJV
26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
James 2:24 KJV
Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Repentance is a COMMAND, not a gift.
Acts 17:30 KJV
“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:”

“How tragic it is when people think they do God a great service by coming to church and participating in the worship service without repenting of their sins!”

Look at the first word in the following verses:
“REPENT ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you” (Acts 3:19-20 KJV).
Repent—that little word may never be spoken from many pulpits; however, whether or not it is spoken, it is still required. Sin must be repented in order for healing to come.
Repent—“repent, metanoeo….: From meta, “after,” and noeo, “to think.”
Repentance is a decision that results in a change of mind, which in turn leads to a change of purpose and action.”
